CONTRACT TIMES
Individual
Individual lessons are offered weekly in 30, 45, or 60 minute sessions.
TUITION AND SCHEDULE--Starting January 1st, 2025
*Please note that tuition reserves the weekly time slot, but may not directly correlate with lessons received if the student does not attend the scheduled lesson times.
Flat monthly tuition rates are based on the number of guaranteed lessons in the calendar year. There will be a minimum of 45 lessons (for weekly) and 22 (for biweekly) offered throughout the year, and the weeks where lessons are not held will be communicated in advance. In the case that there is a 5th weekly lesson in the month, this has been factored into the flat-rate tuition. Pre-planned absences and holiday breaks have also been factored into the rate and will be communicated well in advance. The tuition, schedule, and number of guaranteed lessons reset every January 1st. If you enroll after the 1st, you will inherit the same flat rate mid-term.
All payments are non-refundable. After the first payment, invoicing and payment will run automatically on the same day. Tuition will be drawn on the 1st each month from the method on file. All automatic payments will be run through Stripe.
In order to cancel tuition, written notification must be received via email 2 weeks in advance. In the case that notice is not received by that deadline, the full tuition amount will be run automatically on the first of the month, and students have the option to attend all paid lessons that month. Lessons will then cancel for the following month.

CANCELLATION POLICY
Lessons canceled with under 24 hours notice will not be provided a makeup lesson. Lessons canceled with 24 hours notice will be credited a makeup lesson for that month.
Makeup lessons will be completed online.
Makeup lessons do not count as credit for the next month’s tuition.
Two emergency cancellations on my part have been factored in to the tuition. Lessons canceled by me exceeding this number will be given as much notice as possible and will be rescheduled for an in-person lesson within 30 days.
Tuition is based on the number of lessons the studio schedules and will not be altered. Planned vacations or other conflicts on the student's behalf communicated in advance receive a makeup lesson credit for that month.
*Please note that tuition reserves the weekly time slot, but may not directly correlate with lessons received if the student does not attend the scheduled lesson times.*
COMMITMENT
When students enroll, they are reserving their place in the studio for the entire term. Changes to weekly schedules may be made on a case-by-base basis each month before tuition is due.
If the student decides to pause lessons during the course of a semester, tuition for the remainder of the semester still applies. Alterations to this policy are on a case-by-case basis.
Term 1: January - May
Term 2: June - August
Term 3: September - December
Please note that a student's spot will not be guaranteed for the fall term if they were not enrolled in lessons during the summer term.
STUDENT RESPONSIBILITIES
Materials - Students are responsible for the purchase of their own books, instruments, and other materials needed for the lessons they are receiving. I will assist in referring students to where they can obtain these items, however I am not responsible for providing them personally.
Practicing – I will instruct how much practice is ideal for each student and will encourage students in their practicing. Nevertheless, once I am gone it is up the student to do their own practicing. Progress will be made most quickly by those students who maintain the recommended practicing time. Parents are also encouraged to be involved in their student’s practice. Taking the time to listen to your child play their weekly songs, making a specific place for practice in the home, or creating a set time for practicing in the student’s daily routine are good ways to become involved.
Student Contracts- Students and parents are to agree to the studio policies listed on this page. Their agreement is indicated by completion of the availability form sent before each term or by completing an interest form via the website.
TEACHER RESPONSIBILITIES
The teacher is expected to attend every lesson on time and with all necessary materials.
The teacher is expected to explain things in a clear and understandable manner. The teacher is expected to modify/adapt and prepare material that is appropriate to the age, ability, and unique learning style of each individual student.
The teacher is expected to teach the principles of music and instrument so that the student can gain the most out of their musical education.
ATTENDANCE
Students are expected to arrive at their lesson on time and ready to go. Lesson times will not be extended because of tardiness. However, if a lesson starts late due to me running behind, your full lesson time will be given to you either that week or the next. If you know you have a conflict with a specific lesson date coming up, let me know as soon as possible. If I am not notified 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE about a lesson to be missed, the student will be charged for the lesson, and I am not obligated to make-up the lesson.
MAKE‐UP LESSONS
Though I will do my best to work with schedule changes, I am not obligated to make‐up an unexcused missed lesson. Your payment reserves a time slot with me and if the time slot is missed, payment does not guarantee a certain number of lessons or time taught. If I am notified within 24 hours, we will reschedule for within the pay period for an online makeup. I only have room for one make-up lesson a month per student. If I must miss a lesson, an in-person make‐up lesson will be given within 30 days.
**A minimum of two weeks written email notice must be given when terminating lessons with the studio. If less than two weeks notice is given, no refunds will be given for the remaining lessons in the terminating month.**
PAYMENT--Starting January 1st 2025
Tuition is flat-rate for each month and includes lessons scheduled in that month based on the studio calendar. Invoices will be sent 4 days before the 1st of each month for all enrolled students. Invoices will reflect this flat rate, and will also list the lessons scheduled that month for each student.
Payment received after the 1st of the month is subject to an additional $10 late fee and the lesson time for that student may not be reserved for the next month.
Recurring late payments may result in termination of the student’s enrollment.
Automatic payment is available for all students, and is the preferred method of payment. Venmo, PayPal, and Zelle will not be accepted.
In order to cancel tuition, written notification must be received via email 2 weeks in advance. In the event that this deadline is not met, tuition will still be due and any automatic payments will still run on the first of the month. The student will have the option to still attend those lessons.
